Public views sought on 23-turbine wind farm near Lincoln

People are being given the chance to tell a developer what they think of an idea to build up to 23 wind turbines at Nocton Fen.

Five information sessions will be held at villages in the area, which is around seven miles south-east of Lincoln.

Vattenfall, a Swedish energy company, says there is the potential for between 17 and 23 turbines on a 9 square km site.

But it claims it wants to hear public "hopes and concerns" before developing the plans.

Vattenfall’s project manager Graham Davey said: "This is the start of a conversation with local people at a very early stage for a potential wind farm at Nocton Fen.

"We are inviting local people and businesses to come along and tell us about their hopes and concerns about a possible wind farm at Nocton Fen.

"We want to deliver real benefits to the area if given the opportunity to build a wind farm east of Nocton."

The first event will be on Thursday, November 14 at Nocton Village Hall, between 2pm and 8pm.

Dunston Village Hall will host the next session, which will take place at the same times the following day.

On Saturday, November 16, people can attend Bardney Methodist Hall between 10.30am and 4pm.

And Nocton Village Hall will welcome the public for a second time between 2pm and 8pm on Friday, November 22.

The final event will be at Potterhanworth Memorial Hall, on Saturday, November 23, between 10.30am and 4pm.
